I broke the lock for the cover over the console storage bin (the bin below the HVAC controls) in my '04 Accord and want to replace it but don't know how to get the broken one out. Are there any written instructions (or video) showing how to do this? I tried to get the repair manual from my dealer to find out how but they won't sell it to non-technicians.

I also want to bypass the dealer to buy the new bin and cover--does anyone here have any suggestions, or is my only option a pick and pull or looking for someone parting their Accord?

You can buy a manual for your accord. I got one from automanualsource on ebay for $22 and downloaded it as a pdf. It has all the info you need.

If you broke the upper compartment, I think you can pull it out. Put you hands inside and pull back.

The junkyard or search forums for part-outs. car-part.com may have that listed as an item. It searches junkyards that subscribe to their service. Ebay is another place you can look.
