Default Coolant Question?

Hi, can I use Toyota's coolants on my honda accord, cause my cousin work at Toyota dealer bring home free coolants.

as long as it isn't based off of that dexcool stuff and meets honda's specs, I don't see why not

if it's green in color and your car coolant is green in color it will most likely work

you can use anything but the red extended life/dexcool coolant. if its green or yellow you're good.

Thank you guy, I just checked and it red so I'll leave it alone.

btw, the coolant in the car is green.

no prob...your best bet is just to use either prestone or Zerex, and you'll be runnin good

make sure to have a 50/50 mix of coolant and water

Deserthonda, can you give me a brief instruction how to completly flush out not all but most of the old coolant out. I searched and found one for 1998 but I have 95 accord.

drain the radiator by removing the drain plug, to drain the block on the back of the engine left side of oil filter , there is a drain plug , i believe 17mm head, remove it, get a water hose, put it in the radiator and run the water till it comes out clean from the block drain hole, remove the rad drain plug again to drain the radiator, reinstall plugs, open up the bleeder screw 12 mm nipple on the t-stat housing , have a 50/50 mix of colant and water and fill the radiator , till only coolant and no air comes out of the bleeder screw , tighten screw ,,start car up and let it run a bit without rad cap on , top off coolant if need to, install rad cap. Also make sure to empty reservoir and install new coolant there as well..
