Default Cruise Control

The cruise control in my 1994 Accord EX recently stopped working. I don't know what happened. The one thing that does work is the cruise control power button on the dash by the driver side door (the green light comes on). But when I go to set it, nothing happens. Why would I have power, but have the cruise control not work? And is this a DIY fix, or a take-it-to-the-shop fix? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

This is a DIY in my opinion.

Check these fuses ok

under dash No1 10amp and No4 7.5 amp
under hood No30 20amp

Check that your brake lights are not on all of the time (failed brake switch).

Also download the 94 shop manual from one of links in the Online manuals thread in the DIY section.

Test # 3&4 to prove the cable reel is working.
