Default Cruise control

Whenever I press the master button, it lights up as it should, yet the unit will never engage when I press Set at highway speed. Any suggestions?

Is the CEL on, or any stored codes....tach, speedo, odo and trip odo are all working.

Factory set up....no swaps of engine or trans.

poorman212, everything is working properly, is factory and no CEL.

PAhonda, all brake lights are working propely, ALTHOUGH the brake lamp indicator is on.

crispin, I'll have to learn up on that and check it out.

I'd start with testing the clutch switch....there are two.

I know one switch is near/part of the clutch pedal; where is the other switch located?

Issue resolved! The grommet in the clutch pedal had rotted away and was missing, therefore causing the clutch switch to not depress and do its job by not allowing cruise engagement. Had a similar issue with the brake pedal grommet a few years back, and my brake lamps stayed on. Can't believe it just hit me to check for that in this case. Temporary fix of a piece of old credit card and electrical tape in place until I can get the part.
