Default Crusie control questions

So ive been wanting to ask this for a while now, the cruise control in my '89 accord doesn't work. The light in the dash won't come on either and when we first got the car it worked for about a week then never worked again. I've tried replacing the push button for it but no luck. Would anyone like to share their opinion?

I'd start testing there, yes these things are old and the "light" could be burnt so we need to see of that is the issue or something else.

None of the cruise control lights come on. It might be more than a bulb

Is the #4 under dash fuse good?

Pull the coin holder, bottom row of fuses, count from the left to the right. 4th fuse should be a 7.5 amp.

I checked the fuse and it's still okay. Is there anything else that could be faulty?

Nothing I would call "simple", from here you would need to get out the old volt meter and start tracing wires to figure out what is going on.

Do you have any idea where the control unit is for the cruise control? I think that may be the issue

The 90's accords have it under the dash on the driver's side. A shop manual will help a lot.

The common diy thread on top of the gen tech help section has an online shop manual link

Here is the link. https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...-manuals-4597/

The hondahookup site has an 89 non-US shop manual you can download as a pdf. That should help with locating items. The wiring diagrams may or may not be exactly the same, but should help with testing.

I'd recommend testing the inputs to the cruise control module before condemning the module itself.
