Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't all Accords have ABS starting with the Gen 6 models?

My 99 6th gen Accord doesn't have ABS.

yes it has abs, I looked at both sides, there is no abs ring on the replacement drivers side or original on passenger side, it has 140000 miles, runs like one of the cv axles is bad, shakes on acceleration. the driver's side was replaced, I can tell, they didn't dent in the nut into axle. the boots on passenger side are a little cracked. how long do cv axles last ?

They last until they go bad. I have 180k on my car and mine are still good. Hopefully they will last until 200k and I'm going to refresh everything.

I've seen some go out as early as 75k.

Interesting; my 2001 did. I wonder when they made the switch over to all cars.

You had to have an LX model or above for it to be an option. If you purchased a manual it wasn't available until the EX model. This is for the 6th Gen.

If you have one without ABS you can purchase either or but if you have one with abs you must purchase the one with the ring.

If you have the 05 6 speed your car should definitely have abs.

I'm assuming the ABS has actually been working, & hasn't been disabled by a previous owner installing an axle without the pulser ring...

The parts drawing for the axle sure looks like they have the chopped ring around the outer CV joint.

But on the parts drawing for the knuckle, it isn't real clear exactly where the ABS sensor goes. Whether it needs the chopped ring, or if it actually reads from the bearing cartridge like some cars started to do around that time.

Can you look at the knuckle and follow exactly where the ABS sensor is pointing?
