D4 Light; 94 Honda accord EX 4 door, 4 cylinder automatic
Noob here with a transmission question. I have a 94 Honda accord EX 4 door with a 4 cylinder automatic. The D4 gear selector light will flash a sequence of numbers. They are 4-1-2-7-8. What do they signify? Here’s the lowdown:
The last week while leaving the gas station the transmission suddenly acted as if the clutch had gone out. The engine would rev but the car wouldn’t accelerate. The D4 indicator light was blinking and continued to blink even when I shifted to a different gear. I shut down the car and restarted and the problem went away. It has not happened again. Meanwhile, previous to this incident and still continuing, the check engine light comes on intermittently while climbing hills on the highway. When looking for the check engine light fault code I noticed the shifter D4 indicator light was blinking as well. The D4 light flashed a definite pattern of a long flash followed by short flashes counting 4-1-2-7-8. Is this a fault code and if so what does it signify? As for the check engine light, it was flashing a 4-3 which the manual states is a fuel supply problem, guess I’ll start by replacing the fuel filter. Any comments/advice are greatly appreciated!
