Default Dash Instrument gauge help

So recently my gas and my temperature gauges kind of stopped working. Before when i turned my car on the gas and temp would go to whatever position they were at. Now it doesnt do that. It just sits at nothing and a few minutes later it goes to the position. What could it be? Blown fuse? bad cluster? is there anyway i can put in a digital cluster instead of the analog cluster? I have a 1998 honda acccord ex coupe. Thank you!

Your accord has a coolant temperature sending unit that only sends the signal to the gauge cluster. It is one of the sensors that are on the passenger side of the engine/cylinder head. It will be the only sensor with one wire going to it (yellow with green stripe). Inspect the connection for any oil or corrosion. Clean and reattach.

The problem can be with the sending unit, the wire/connection, or the cluster/temp gauge. You just need to figure out which item is causing the problem.

I would suggest not converting to a different gauge cluster.

I can't seem to find it. Could you provide a picture of the location and what it should look like?

Is this a V6 or a 4-cylinder accord?

I was giving you the location on the 4-cylinder. Not as familiar with the V6, but the wiring diagram shows the wire color is the same (yel/grn). From the shop manual, there is a plastic cover over the intake manifold. That sending unit is hidden from that plastic cover, so remove it. It looks like it is the area of the oil cap or the C in vtec.

You may want to look up the part on a site like hondapartsnow.com that has schematics of the parts and oem part numbers. Google the OEM honda part number to get an idea of what it looks like.
