Dealer tells me cat shield is rusty
I've been googling around, and it seems like no problem unlike how the dealer made it sound. He told me I shouldnt to long distances and it could damage the cat converter if the rusting continues. By the posts I saw, cat shield just lowers the heat. Is this right? If so, as long as I don't have anything dry under there, and considering the fact I dont live in a desert, I can just remove it or leave it.
If you have any tips on how, I would really appreciated it!!

??
Next oil change I'd have some commercial oil shop change the oil using a lift and ask in advance
for me to go under to inspect this 'cuz of dealer's comment. I'd want to see this 'danger' first hand - just me.

It is BS. Any shield in that area is simply a heat shield for the underbody of your car.
If it is rusty rip it off. It is often the rattling noise that comes from under these cars.
Biggest danger - it falls off and someone runs it over - OH the Humanity!

If you want a quick fix, have two big hose clamps installed around the heat shields. That will hold them together and prevent them from rattling. I had that done on my 95 accord and they charged me like $5 or $15 to do this.
