Exclamation Denso or NS fuel gauge

My '90 Accord stalls when my gas gauge hits 1/2 tank or less (especially if I am driving downhill or hit the brakes quickly). I'm going to change out the electric fuel pump harness and believe I may just have a bad piece of fuel tubing between the harness and the fuel pump. I may need to change the fuel level sending unit and there are two types: Denso and NS. How do I tell which type I need for my Accord?

When the fuel gauge gets to 1/2, how much does it take to fill it? What I'm getting at is whether the gauge is OK & the pump is the problem.

More specifically, there's a suction tube on the pump that sucks fuel from the bottom of the tank. If that's cracked, fell off, or messed up, it'll suck air instead.
