Disapearing Engine Code

Disapearing Engine Code
As I started my car tonight after work, I see the constant dashboard engine warning light go on. My first thought is *%#@&* oxygen sensor has gone bad. So after collecting those bad thoughts, I head off to Advance Auto to pull a code. Sure enough, front oxygen sensor code shows up. The guy unplugs it, we locate the sensor in a difficult place to reach and he tells me it is about $100 for the part. Afterwards, I start the car and the engine warning light stays off. I assume his hand held cleared the code?
Should I get my hopes up that the code was a an error, or can I expect the engine warning light will soon reappear? If I need to replace it, what brand should I go with? I have a 2005 Accord Coupe 4 cyl, 125,000 miles.
It is always something and lately very frequently.

What was code presented? There are several O2 sensor codes, some can be intermittent, while others are usually permanent until repaired, once presented.
Performance checks by ECM take some time to complete, and code may reappear once check is completed.
Primary (front) O2 sensor is an Air/Fuel sensor can cost significantly more than former O2 sensor. Most folks opt for OEM sensor.
good luck
