Yes, actually, I'm pretty sure you can.

Autozone will only check OBD2 vehicles (common electronic interface standard). OBD1 is either manual or requires a special Honda tool. Only a Honda shop or a Honda specialty shop is likely to be able to interrogate an OBD1 Accord. Many shops should be able to perform the manual interrogation described in this thread.

good luck

What year did the Accord change from the flashing LED (older system) to the newer system where you jumper the SCS connector & watch the CEL flash?

TexasHonda 03-20-2009 05:14 PM

The 90 Accord EX I used to have had both service check connector which could be shorted to cause CEL or S light flashes and LED's you could view through the ECU/TCU module window w/o shorting the SCC. I suspect this continued through 93 Accords but don't know for a fact. My 94 EX does not have the LED or windows to view.

good luck

tranny trouble

Thank you for starting a new thread, this would have been confusing. 91 vs 97 is a much different car.

Start a new thread. When you pig-tail to an existing thread it gets confusing for all.

My car is officially fixed! Turns out there was a problem with the gear shift. The mechanic changed it and checked the computer, after that, there was no problem with it.:D
