Default Driver side door lock

Probably a very stupid question, but I can't get the driver side door to lock on my 1996 Honda Accord LX 2dr Coupe. I just bought the car a few days ago, and so it very well could be something stupid. The door locks just fine if I'm in the car and the car is running, but when I get out and hit the power door lock, it only locks the passenger side. The driver side sounds like it is trying to lock and then unlocks.

I have even tried to manually lock it with the key, but no luck. Here are my thoughts on the situation...

1. The key I was given with the car is a copy. Do these cars require a chipped key?

2. Was keyless entry standard on these cars?

Any suggestions? Just seems weird that it works fine when the car is running.

I figured out through Yahoo answers how to lock the door.

I would still like to know if keyless entry was standard on this vehicle and if so, where could I get a replacement remote?

Just in case it's the same throughout the lines, I had a 95 Integra GSR and it did NOT have remote locks. That was an expensive option packaged together with alarm system.
