Default driver side electric mirrror

Having an issue with side mirror. Electric buttons all work except the one that tilts the mirror outwards. I can hear the motor working but it just ticks. I can grab the mirror and it moves full rotation with no resistance. While driving it will stay where I put it, but vibrates a good bit. What's the trick to getting behind the mirror to see if a simple fix is possible? Thanks!

Aftermarket parts are cheap ($30 on ebay) and easy to replace. Youtube has many videos on mirror repair if you're determined to DIY. There are delicate parts that may be cracked or broken.

good luck

Thanks, I looked at quite a few videos, but they were either replacing a broken mirror pane with new one that popped in or just replacing the whole assembly. No cheap repair that I saw. Any link would be appreciated.

Following video may help. Honda tends to use same design for years.

well I feel kind of stupid, it was actually one of the ball joints that was not clipped into the back side of the mirror. all it needed was a little pressure to pop it back in. Thank you so much.
