I have two 97 Honda Accords both autos and non Vtech 4cylinders one is an SE and the other a LX the SE has 330,000 mi on it and the LX 120,000 mi on it. My question is was there any difference in the hose power of the two due to different factory timing set ups or different gearing in the trans between the two? I ask this because both cars run great but the SE has more noticeable pick up after 3400 RPM. And if I had to guess I would say at least a second faster in the quarter if not more. Both cars are bone stock
I dont think theres any difference.
Look at the engine block, alongside the exhaust, right next to the bellhousing. On the smooth surface above the block serial # is the engine type. F22 something something. Tell us what that is, and tell us the FIRST DIGIT of the serial # below that.
If those 2 items are the same, then there should be no difference.
One of them might need a tune-up? Old spark plugs? Worn rings give bad compression? Theres plenty of reasons for 11-year-old cars to have less power than stock.
