First, this DIY secton is for long procedures, not just question/answer threads. I'll move it to General Tech where it belongs.
Next, it would be good to know what year car you're talking about. Accords from 1977 to today are not all exactly the same...

I'm guessing this is a UK accord?
Starting in 1996, all US vehicles had to have a standard connector (OBD2) to scan for error codes using a code reader. I don't know if your accord has that or not. See if your car has one. Do you know if the auto parts stores scan codes for free like in the US?

yes this is a uk accord. had a clutch replacement, engine mangement light was off before replaced clutch, then came on, no affect to preformance then when off, then a week later came on and started to go into "limp home mode". SO disconnected battery for 30 mins, light when off then back on 5 mins later. light is constant no flash or code( not that i know where the code would be flashing at) been told that engine light should flash to tell what is faulty. but as i say it on and won't rev passed 4000 rpm, and no we have to pay for diagnostic check £100 or $150 roughly. any help would be muchly appreciated.
thanks yan

Ask around. There's a lot of places in USA (especially California) that refuse to read the codes here too. You might just have to learn where to go??
For your original question, we're not sure about that either. The Swindon-built Accord is a whole different car than the USA Accord. Ours has the ECU located low in the center stack of the dashboard. Below the radio is a storage bin way forward from the gearshift lever. Below that & a bit forward is where the ECU is located. You have to remove the center console which can be a bugger. I can only guess that your Swindon car is similar for the location of the ECU.

thanks for the help.UK accords ecu is under the passenger seat. but to make me look like a fool i'll tell what the problem was........ lack of OIL!!!!
had to put 3 liters of oil in the thing. put key in ignition and OH MY GOD NO LIGHT ON!!! so princapal of the story is CHECK THE SMALL THING FIRST!
But got a test for £60 around $100 best i could find. in it go's on tuesday.

Yeah, I love it. ALWAYS check the small easy stuff FIRST.
Reset your ECU by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. Then see whether the engine-mgmt light comes back on. If the car runs OK, the first thing in most of the diagnosis procedures is reset then see if it ever comes back.
