Egr Valve
Help Please . .My 99 honda accord "CHECK ENGINE" light came on reading a code "P0401" which is EGR valve.Changed egr valve drove a few miles and Check Eng. light back on and it's same code.Has any body clean the holes where egr valve mounted to engine to see if its clogged or blow air into the engine?? I would like to know what is the procedure to clean it. .

RE: Egr Valve
Hey man,
i had the same problem, it was a dealer fix, your honda actually had an extended warranty for this egr vavle problem
all the fix is is boring out larger holes to prevent carbon deposits, speical tools needed though, dealer did mine, car has run very well since.
good luck next door

Sorry you left, must have more patience to allow others to give you Free Answers.
Dealors charge and they take more time that anyone in the industry.
Done a few carbon clean ups on many , many cars myself .

Yeah dealers are pricey, sometimes though it pays, i went to a couple of local useless shops re egr valve, check engine light issue only to end up arguing because the light came right back, dealer did it once, did it right, paid al ittle extra, no headaches since though.
