if your car is gettin the egr clogged code and not passing emissions then it is best to remove your entire intake and to clean any carbon deposits from the egr ports, intake manifold, air plenum, and egr port cover.

the job isn't too hard to do and i shop will charge probably around 300 bucks to do it. when reinstalling your intake make sure to use a new manifold to head gasket and manifold to plenum gasket. mine came together for around $15. i used stp intake and throttle body cleaner, lots of shop towels, a wire brush, and a flathead screwdriver to clean the deposits. lacquer thinner/acetone which can be purchased at your local ace hardware is good to remove heavy deposits because its much stronger then the stp spray. also when unhooking everything from the top of the intake(hose, electrical connectors, cables) make sure to label everything with masking tape and a sharpie so when you go to put it back together you don't have a million things that you don't know where they go. i also labeled every nut/bolt i removed
