Default engine vibration

I recently had my timing and balance belts replaced due to a main oil seal failure. The mechanic (my nephew) said the belt was kind of loose when he removed it. I had just changed the belt about 10k miles ago (I thought I had it right!) . He said there was a fastener missing on the tensioner, which he replaced when he installed the new belt.
The car now has a slight vibration throughout the rpm range. Could my belt be too tight? How tight is the toothed belt when properly installed?

The balance belt may be off by a tooth. Recheck the timing marks on both belts. You can download a 94 shop manual from the Online Manuals link in the DIY section. That will help out a lot.

I'm not sure what fastener your nephew is talking about. He might have installed the bolt that removes tension from the belt. That bolt should be removed when the new timing belt is installed. That manual shows the bolt I am talking about.

yep.I agree with Pa.... that bolt that he installed on the t- belt tensioner should NOT be there .. also make sure that t-belt and balancer belt were installed properly ( timing wise )
