enigine management light

Exclamation enigine management light

hi folks got a question for u.
just changed my down pipe and cat, changed the oil and filter so all is good.
when to start the car to check oil level!!!.... all is good but now the E.M.L. coming on and it was ok before the exhaust and oil and filter change. any help would be good.

Double check the work. Are the O2 sensor(s) connected.

It would also help if we knew what year, engine and model this is? The crystal ball is on the fritz and I left the service manual at work so I can't fix it.

oh yeah its a 2.0 ltr accord type r v-tec se reg w735 rgf..... yes is it uk model

only sensor that came out was the one at the back of the cat. all blots and clamps r tight. light comes on then looks like it flickers slightly??
no codes appear just the light

Is EML same as Check Engine Light? If yes, there should be a code stored that would provide guidance. See DIY forum for guidance on extracting obd1 codes.

Fewer abbreviations would help, but what year is this accord?

its a 1999 honda accord 2.0ltr type r se v tec. check engine light is what it is

Was the down pipe and cat OE or are these some "upgrade". Werid that that is was not on before, O2's did go back in the correct positions (on the US models there are two).

As TX said, if you can get the codes that will def help.

Add the last line of info "2.0 litre SE, TYPE R, V-TEC UK MODEL. REG W735 RGF OR 1999 MODEL" to your signature and set the option to always disply your signature...that way you will never forget to let everyone know what you have....
