Default f22a1 misfire at idle/low rpms and loss of acceleration and power over 4500 rpm

OK. So my 1992 accord lx with a 1990 DX manual transmission conversion and motor is having some issues. It seems to run OK while cruising but at idle or low rpms it misfires and had hunting idle. Also at mid to high rpms (like 4250-4500+) it loses all power and stops accelerating. There is no codes and no cel. I have replaced the iacv and adjusted the fitv to no avail. I have also replaced plugs wires cap and rotor. Ignition control module tests good also. Someone please help!

Time to check engine compression to be sure engine does not have leaking valves or damaged compression rings.

A sticking EGR valve can cause poor idle, acceleration, and missing. Check EGR for sticking open.

Also check all vacuum lines for leaks.

good luck

OK so I'm pretty sure compression isn't the issue. This happened all of the sudden. One day all was well the next morning this began. Question, do I need to remove the egr to check it like I do on g.m. cars and trucks?

Only way to check for open EGR is to remove and inspect w/ suction or air to see if it's leaking. Sometimes possible to clean and restore function.

A leaking valve can appear suddenly causing miss on one cylinder. Have you isolated miss to one cylinder or random?

good luck

It feels to only b a single cylinder. I was hoping I didn't have to remove the egr but sounds like its time, I also fear the valves now due to a very erratic vacuum reading

Question, do I need the egr? Or is it just emission related if I don't is it just remove and block off

OK, so diaphragm on egr is good, vacuum while idling is steady 20-21 but I still have a wicked misfire on what seems like one cylinder and the issue of limited rpms

Could be. Try cleaning the connector and see what you have. Check the resistance on the injector while there.
