Default Fried Plug

plug number 96 2 24 on the main harness that travels the length of the dash has a yellow and black wire that appears to no longer have an insulator, anyone know where it might head to or belong?

Two more questions:

What is the maximum number of wires the connector could hold? How many wires actually go into the plug? What wire colors are running into that plug?

From the pic you emailed to me, it looks like connector 437 in the 96 shop manual. So what is the problem with it?

The pics you sent weren't focused, so it is hard to tell what is wrong. I could see the wire colors, so that is how I identified the connector.

What do you mean by insulator?

Also, does your car not have ABS?

I just looked up your earlier thread about a fuse blowing, then you had an electrical fire up under the dash.

This is starting to make more sense now of why you found that plug. The blk/yel wire is protected by fuse 4. Explains why the fuse is blowing.

Now the question becomes how to find and fix the short. Is only one blk/yel wire damaged, or are multiple blk/yel wires damaged?
