Before replacing the front rotors, did you try using the handbrake to see whether the shaking is coming from the rear?

Corky
you did the right thing, as this is the normal cause of vibration when braking 99.9% of the time.

However, this did not fix your problem. at this point, it might be best and less expensive to take it to a dealership or good shop to find and fix the problem.

The problem could be anything.. bent rim, out of round tires, wheel bearing, ball joints... and so forth.

my suggestion is to have a professional at this point forward...

I may not agree with accord1224 but we all have our opinions. Yes, bad tires or balance can cause these kinds of issue but a rotate and balance should prove that.

From here, do as Jim suggested and "check/test" the rear.

Then get the front in the air - proper safety - and "lock or have someone hold the steering wheel" as you give the front tires a good shake. This shake should be from the 3 and 9 o'clock and then from the 12 and 6 o'clock positions.
Do you feel any movement that is different from side to side and or when doing this do you hear anything strange.

Poorman212,

Thank you for being considerate in the dissagreement. That is appreaciated.

My oppinion is based on what I have seen time and time again from years posting and reading Automotive forums. Sometimes it's advise that was never offered and the person works for months and spends so much money throwing parts at a car in an effort to fix the problem,.. only to wind up taking it to a shop for the repair.

But, we do post here for help... so if that is the route someone wants to go, I am certainly willing to do my part in helping.

accord1224 - as I said in PM - it is cool. I hope my "two cents" did not come across the wrong way. If it did, I am sorry.

OP- Are you doing this work or paying someone?
