Default fuel gauge not working correctly

my Honda accord 90 fuel gauge is not working accurately. At times when there is no fuel in tank the gauge needle will be high above the mark `fuel empty ` causing confusion. i thought probably the fuel pump is going bad. how can I resolve this problems. is auto transmission, 4cylinder. 1990 model

Run a couple of tanks of gas with Techron Concentrate fuel system cleaner. You can even look into Marvel Mystery Oil too; these products are known to free things up for proper gas needle readings.
