5th gen Fuel gauge question
Just bought my very first car back, 1995 V6 accord, and am fixing it up little by little. One thing that I knew was wrong when I sold it was the fuel gauge, it broke when taking off the indigo gauges.
So now I've resorted to buying a replacement on eBay but keep coming across bad gauges. Or at least that's what I think. My gauge that is broke won't return to empty. I've pulled the gauges apart and manually moved it back to empty to see if it goes up, which it does.
I've now bought 2 online that do the same, won't return. And this is of course when the power is off.
I can't rule out a faulty sending unit now but if I remember correctly, the fuel gauge would rest at empty when the car was off. And this is what an aftermarket gauge I had on it does too. My other cars do the same thing, return to empty when not on.
Could someone with a working fuel gauge confirm this is what the fuel gauge does on your accord? Does your gauge return to empty when not on?
Thanks!

Went out and checked, fuel gauge registers just under 1/2 tank,
so fuel gauge retains its setting when ignition is off. Hope this helps.
