keep your foot out of the gas pedal and that will do the most to get you good fuel ecomony. I have a 1998 V6 and I get 23 around town and 32-34 on the highway with the A/C on. I get an average of 26mpg with mixed driving...

I would listen to desert and not mess with the chip until the warranty is out....

I put a K&N air filter on my truck and it upped my MPG by about 1, have not gotten one for the car yet to I'm not sure if it will make a difference or not.

I'm sorry but the accord DX was dropped in 2006 for the accord VP (Value Package). Are you SURE you have a 2006 car? DX was offered through the '05 model year but not in '06

One other thing...........to "chip" it requires the complete removal of the computer and modifying it. Doing so will not increase mileage and will no doubt wave bye-bye to any warranty if discovered. Leave it alone and drive with economy in mind.

K&N filters may give you better mileage, but the breathing easier comes at a cost, i.e., more dust gets into your engine. If you don't believe me then do an oil analysis before and after the filter change.

Laying off the gas is best. Low restriction intake & exhaust should theoretically help you, but you'll see a very tiny improvement (or not). There's NOTHING you can do (modification) that's anywhere near as effective as just staying off the gas.
