Default Gas Mileage

I have a 2012 Honda Accord EX-L V coupe, with 1000 miles, and I am only getting 22 MPG. I don't drive the vehicle hard and 80% is highway miles. What gas mileage is everyone else getting for this vehicle.

welcome. so is this a 4 cyl, auto?

anyway, some bad mpg calculations come from filling up the tank when it's mostly full
and the math division is affected.

If this is case, wait until tank is ~1/4 full to fill up and do it again the next fill-up and re-calculate it.

If this is so simple it's insulting, I apologize - but I have an acquaintance who inflicted his theories
on me as to why he's getting such bad gas mileage, until I found out he's filling up every 1 1/2 gallons. WTH?

my old 1993 4 cyl 5-spd gets 32 hgwy, 29 around town,
with 17 gallon tank that works out to 475+ miles / tank.
See if you can't go 300 miles before next tanking up...

A figure of 22 mpg on V6 in city driving may not be too bad for a new engine. Most V6's will only get about 22-25 mpg w/ city driving w/ some effort at driving conservatively. On highway they may increase to 28-29 mpg.

Make sure all tires are correctly inflated.

good luck

Ok, thanks for your advice. I do a lot of highway driving and I was hoping to get around 28 mpg and maybe a little more.

Sounds just like mine 2012 v6 1200 miles 80-90% highway. I was hoping installing a catback and new intake would help a little. it did with my 2000 accord.

I think the MPG will improve as the car gets near 10,000 miles. I don't like modifying new vehicles for warranty purposes.

Default 2012 Coupe Manual 6-speed MPG

My 2012 Coupe has a little over a 1000 miles and is getting about 22 mpg after being driven mostly on the highway. It's rated 23 mpg highway 17 mpg city, so....

My new 2012 Accord coupe 4 cylinder is only getting 21mpg on mixed driving. I have around 2500 miles on it and it's not getting any better. Has anyone had a similar mpg issue? The dealer says it's going to improve after 5000 miles but I'm not seeing any improvement so far???
