Default gas smell

Ihave a 96 accord and i can smell gas every now and then, but cant find any leaks anywhere. Could bad fireing eg.: plugs, wires or distributor be causing it ? any thing else i should check?

Default RE: gas smell

A fuel leak on the upper or lower end of the injectors is difficult to detect as fuel vaporizes rapidly when car is warm. Upper orings are prone to dry out and leak, especially if someone has removed/replaced an injector. Also check the fuel supply fittings and fuel return fittings.

Another possibility is a leaking fuel pressure regulator. Remove the vacuum reference line and sniff for gas smell. If you smell gas, the regulator diaphragm is ruptured allowing fuel to enter the intake system through the vacuum line.

good luck

When the injector O rings seep, you can sometimes find a brownish stain at the base of the injector on the manifold.
