Default Groan from power steering in sync with engine RPM

2002 Accord 4cly

My power steering is making a growling noise in sync with the engine RPMs. The noise starts up as soon as the engine is cranked over. When I press the accelerator and raise the rpm's the groaning gets louder. When the rpm's settle aster start up the engine is struggling to stay at normal idle speed. The engine itself is t running, though. While stopped, when I turn the steering wheel the rpm's drop low and can cause the engine to stall, however the groaning noise doesn't change when the steering wheel is turned. Any help would be appreciated!

Check the fluid level in the power steering reservoir. Also, look to see if there are air bubbles or the fluid is foaming.

It might be low on fluid. Or maby your power stearing pump is getting ready kill over. Also r u sure its your PS pump that's making the noise?

Spray something on the belt while the car is idling and if the sound goes away it's the belt too loose.

There is a adjuster useing the power steering pump. If the belt is fairly tight. Try taking a bar of soap and holding it to both sides of the belt. Just the sides. And only alittle. That will fix the whining of the belt if its that. Most people don't know belts should be washed with dish soap before putting them on. Especially snowmobile belts it allows them to grip better instead of slipping

Remember old belts get hard & slippery with heat & age. Washing doesn't always fix that. If you overtighten them (rather than replacing) you're asking for bearing problems.
