I know this is an easy one, I tried using the search feature, but headlight and bulb are too common of a search, etc...


My left headlight is out. I'd rather just buy a bulb. Found one online. How difficult is this installation. Any reason to get the whole lens?

Not sure about 96 but some years you have to peel back the plastic inner fender liner to get the bulb out?

 

5th gen bulbs are easy, only the RH light is difficult because of the coolant tank. Just go to wal-mart and buya new bulb, don't waste money on shipping!

 

I have to say I miss coming to this site. I bought an suzuki 81 GS650G motorcyle last year, and have been spending my time on the suzuki boards. Great people over there, but it's always a pleasure posting here, quickest response on the net!!! Thanks guys!

one more question, heh, so.... should I just take out my bulb and walk into a wal-mart to find a matching one. Is there a generic size I should be looking for?

Twist the bulb out, it should have the size stamped on the base. Most likely a 9005 (hi beam) or 9006 (low beam), very generic sizes.

Walmart probably has a table or little electronic doodad so you can look it up by year/make/model. You already know NOT to touch the actual bulb??
