Default Headlights

I realized that the passenger headlight on my 02 Accord SE is somewhat hazy compared to the drivers side. It is on the inside of the lens. Are the headlights a one piece, sealed unit? It kinda looks like there are some tabs where you could separate the front part from the main housing part. There is no damage to the lens itself, and the bulbs are both new. Anybody else have this problem? I really don't want to fork over $140 bux for a new headlight.

On your 02' it is actually glued together with silicone believe it or not. I would first start by buying a headlight restoring kit, which consist of sand paper, and a cleaning and waxing solution if you dont want to get your hands dirty. If that fails, you could take out your headlight assembly, bake it in an oven until the silicone is soft, and the two pieces can seperate. Then proceed to clean the inside, with either the same restoration kit or rubbung compound to clear the haze. Reasemble using new silicone, and let dry for a few hours, but make sure you have no leaks or else you will develop water in the housing and damage the unit, aswell as the bulbs themselves.

Edit: I personaly use 1000 grit sandpaper, and buff it with 3M rubbing compound. Works like a charm.

Maybe others could shed light on how they rid the haze.
