If you want, you can test it yourself and if it turns out to be the switch, replace it yourself.
- Gently lift the trim panel by hand. There are clips holding the trim panel on. There are three clips on each side holding it down.
- The seat heater switch is screwed into the trim panel. Unplug the Blue 6-P connector. (If replacing the switch, you would unplug the switch, lift the panel and unscrew the switches from the panel.)
For this test, you can just unplug the blue 6-P connector to the driver’s seat heater switch. To test the seat heater (HIGH setting) you be using two small jumper wires.
- Connect a jumper wire from cavity 5 (Brn wire) to cavity 6 (Gry wire).
- Connect a jumper wire from cavity 4 (Blk wire) to cavity 3 (Lt Grn wire).
Do not connect the blue 6-P connector to the switch in this test.
Turn the ignition to ON, does the driver’s seat heater work now? If the seat heater works, the switch may be the problem.
If you want to, the switch can also be tested for continuity in different switch positions.
