Default hello new guy :)

hey everyone im hopefully going to a be a new owner of a 98 honda accord soon no sure model yet or mileage, but its stereo competition ready and dynamated everywhere its amazin. But im a little worried right now, i have read these horror stories about the transmission these things have. No i just go rid of a ford focus that had a tranny fail on me. I do not want to go through that again. Is this a very common problem for all models or particular ones. Any feed back would be great. O by the way im always going to be a a fan and love my old CB7 H22A swap i sold miss it very muc

All 98-02 automatic transmissions has some problems. I think the V6 more so than the 4-cylinder. The manual transmissions were pretty bulletproof. I would avoid the automatic transmissions in that generation accord.

If I bought an auto Accord the first thing I would do is change the tranny fluid and install a cooler.

98-02 Accord has issues with their auto trans, not all but at least more than 50%. When you are buying it, make sure it shifts nice and smooth and no diff bearing whines, check fluid make sure that it's now varnish or burnt.

Z1 is being phased out and replaced by DW1, get either one.

Follow the instructions that come with the cooler.

Bigger rad usually is just a larger cap for the coolant with better air flow for the coolant.
