First time here, I am trying to help my mother with her Accord. I did a search using a few different combinations of the words "accord", "moonroof" and "broken" and could not find anything. A few months ago she tried to open the moon roof, and all it did was tilt. After that, she could not get it closed. She took it to the dealership and they got it closed, but could not find the issue. I was wondering if this is a common failure, or if anyone has had a similar problem? Any help would be great.

Not saying it is the solution, but they will do that if the front of the track the glass slides in is full of debris. About the only way to clean it out would by to remove the glass roof panel (4screws) and pick the gunk out. What happens is the track can't slide into the full close position so that it can change directions and slide.

 

Sounds like a possibility. I will check this out tomarrow. Thanks.
