Default Help with 97 accord.

Model/year: 1997 accord, Honda coupe

engine 2.2l 4cly DOHC

Ok I purchest this car from a friend. He got it from a guy that got into a accident with it. They rebuilt the back end and it looks very good. The car was t-boned by the way. My friends dad fixes cars like this all the time and he did a great job. You can not even tell it was in a accedent. The car has a DOHC 2.2L in it with some upgraded parts like a dc exhost manifold and stuff. I have looked everyware for the info on this engine but every site says they have sohc 4cly or a 2.7. v6. The only ref to a dohc is the si engine. I am trying to find out the info on this engine. This car alos has no honda symbols or anyother symbols at all. I no it has everything but leather seats in it. By the way I have not picked it up from his house he lives 4 hours from my house and I am picking it up soon. I am just trying to find the info for the engine. I only paid $1200 for the car and it is very good shape and I mean very good shape now that it has been fixed it even has a new paint job mittalic blue and lowish millage. I needed a car and he hooked me since he got a job that pays more then 90,000 a year lol. So if any of you guys can help me out let me know. I have searched for hours with no luck. I can't remember if it says v-tech on it but I don't think it does.

On every honda block there is a stamp that will tell you what engine it is. Its on the front where the engine meets the transmission. The stock engine is a F22B1 or F22B2. A couple DOHC engines it could be are H23, H22, or F22B. Ask your friend what it says, or for a picture.
