Default HELP 99 accord v6

99 accord v6 having temp issue has not overheated but when I start it temp gauge goes straight to hot and stays there wqa
told this would be a bad ground issue with one of the two coolant temp sensors and that one goes to ecu and one goes to instrument panel can anyone give me anymore info as to how to locate and distinguish the two ?

Near the thermostat there's a couple temperature sensors. The sender for the dashboard temperature gauge is smaller and it has only 1 wire. Check that wire for having damaged insulation, shorting to ground.

If that wire is shorted to ground, fix the short, repair the insulation, whatever... But the shop manual has warnings that this can damage the gauge in the dashboard if you allow it to be shorted for long.
