Default Help, emergency situation

I'm parked at the grocery store about to go in and I press the button on the automatic shifter to put the car in Park and the shifter moves but the car is stuck in drive. I don't have any tools on me or money to tow this car, do yall know a way to start a car if it's in drive or if I can make it shift. I took apart the console and I see the shift cable but it's bolted down. The car is a 1998 Honda Accord 2 door automatic

i dont know particulars on your car, or Honda, but American vehicles I have worked on there is a switch there is a neutral safety switch, if you can find that, if this car has one, it could be jumped & cranked in gear, definitely not recommended as vehicle will usually lurch forward, but I have done it numerous times on American vehicles

Are you sure it is in drive? My daughter had a gear position sensor that went out and still the gears were right, just the lights just said D (1998 Honda accord).

Try moving the shifter to "N" and start the car.

Sounds like the shift cable broke and left the transmission in Drive.
