Help, i connect the battery in a wrong way
I am replacing my 2006 Honda accord battery with a new one. I made a mistake in connecting the battery in a reverse way ( positive to negative, negative to positive), i see sparks somewhere and then i stopped the connection. I realized the mistake and then i connect the battery in the right way, however, when i insert the key and rotated (i did not try to start the engine), there is no power. What happened? maybe some fuse blow out? which fuse most likely will burn out?
Thanks.
Mike
Thanks.

I chekced the fuse and found the fuse 22 is broken, i replaced it and the car has power again. However, when i start the car, the engine only cranks but won't start, so what is the possible reason? BTW, when i turn the key and start the car, i don't see the "check engine light" illuminating at all.
Thanks.
Mike

It is possible you blew more fuses, so check every fuse.
The reason you are having problems is you sent a lot of current in the wrong direction to the vehicle. Hopefully the fuses protected the components by burning and no other damage was done.

I checked all fuses and they all look fine. I read many video and it seems "engine crank but wont start" problem may be due to a faulty main relay. so how can i access the main relay, is it below the dashboard?
I found the reason. It is another dumpiest mistake. After the reverse the polarity of the battery, i pulled out all fuses to check. But i plug the fuse no. 8-the ECU fuse to a wrong position-Slot no. 10 which is a spare slot. That makes the ECU completely lose power and that is why i did not see the "check engine light" illuminating and the car crank but won't start. When i plug the ECU fuse to the right position, the car started! What a relief? i checked all sources in internet and try to find the reason all this morning. i am thinking of tow this car to a car shop, finally it is that simple mistake! I am a newbies for auto repair and this is the first time i open the hood and work on cooling system replacement (thermostat, radiator and fan, and battery replacement). I am still working on it and hope there is no further surprise coming.
