Several weeks ago I pulled the trunk release from inside my'91 Accordand it opened the trunk but then the lever wouldn't go back down. It seems like the cable might have broken somewhere between the lever and the trunk. Now the trunk does not close and I just realized that is why my battery is draining because the trunk light stays on constantly. It is my second car.....I drive a Del Sol primarily since gas is not so cheap. I tried to take the trunk mechanism out of the trunk, but it is connected with this wire. I didnt want to damage it by pullins really hard on the unit to get it out after taking the three bolts off. Any suggestions or do I have to go to the dealer ($$$$$)? Thanks.

 

Just take out the bulb, so the battery stops getting drained. As far as the cable goes....im not sure.
