Default Help needed. Engine swap.

I have a 96 accord 2.2l vtec obd2 and I just picked up a parts car that is a 95 with the intent to swap the engines over but the 95 is obd1, is there a obd1 to obd2 connector for an automatic transmission, or would I be able to just change the Ecu and harness over?

There are several ways of doing this. Yes, I believe that there is a "harness" that can be bought from aftermarket companies that will make the change a "plug and play".

The biggest thing you have to solve for, on the OBD-II one of the sensors for the dist moved to the crank gear vs the OBD-I where they are both inside the dist.

I'd suggest trying to keep your OBD2 setup in your car, because you can do more diagnosis with and obd2 scanner.

You would have to use the distributor, oil pump/housing, and the crank gear from your 96 on the 95 engine. I think the transmissions are pretty much the same between the two cars.

^Yes, I agree that OBD-II is better for many reasons....big one is car inspection laws in many states will force this.

All I was stating was there are differnt ways to get there.

1. Yes, you can swap the pump/housing, gear, sensor, ect from the 96 engine to the 95 engine.

2. Run the OBD-I dist and wire it to the OBD-II harness. There are companies that sell a harness that will be a plug and play thing or you can wire it yourself.

Or other means
