Why would you want to turn it on and off?

It's easy but curious as to why you would need it done?

i need it done becuz i got a ticket and i truly wasnt speeding... i was behind a 18 wheeler lol.. but from past experiences the judge always takes the word of the cop regardless if its true or not.. i want to wire the toggle switch in so i can turn my speedometer off when i go to court... idk if it will work but i want to try since i know i wasnt speeding.. but realistically have no proof... i would really appreciate it if you guys could help..please

Joe

how is turning off your speedometer going to help you in court to fight a ticket?

You're going to get in even more trouble telling the court your speedometer "doesn't work" since it's illegal to have a faulty one. If the big rig was in the furthest right-hand lane and you were following at a safe distance the prosecutor will probably let you off. You only have to face the cop if you bypass the prosecutor and go straight to a trial.

I don't know about that, I was left off on a couple charges because the cop and witnesses didn't show, and that was traffic not criminal court. You get in more trouble for not having a working speedo, ignorance isn't a good excuse. If your weren't speeding stick with the truth.
