is it a bad idea to buy this car?
(Honda Accord 2.3i)

I'm guessing fuel prices will be sky high? would i be better with the 1.8i, or is there really that big a difference?

Well I can't read that language, but as for prices it depends. Isn't 2.3L pretty big for a European car? I just bought a 1999 2.3L and it gets about 23.5 MPG (about 10 km per liter).

does anyone know the km/l (or miles, doesnt matter) for the 1.8?
really confused which one to buy... im just guessing the 1.8 is kinda slow compared to the 2.3?
(im pretty new to all this car stuff btw as you probably noticed already :P.. soon hitting 19, and english is not my first nor second language, but hope its okay though.. i just so badly want a good honda accord i wont regret buying later on..)

It appears the 2.3 is a manual transmission?
My Accord is a 2.3 with a manual trans and I get around 29-30 MPG (29MPG = about 12.33 km/l)doing mostly stop & go city driving. The 2.3 is peppy and fun to drive with a manual trans as well.
I'm pretty sure the 1.8 would be a lot slower than the 2.3. It would not be able to make as much torque

I don't know where you're located, but is it still true that there's a LARGE difference in tax/license/registration fees for cars having more than 2.0 liters?? Do your homework so you're not surprised when it's too late.

I would expect the 2.3 to use more gas. That's pretty vague, huh??
But it's hard to say from here. The state of tune for those 2 engines (Europe spec???) might be quite different than what we expect here in USA. I wouldn't be too surprised if even the 2.3 has different tuning than what we get here.
If you keep the same driving habits, the 1.8 would spend much more time at high revs & high load. Maybe your 1.8 is more high-strung so might not save much gas.
Does your country/region have any govt-published information like our US-EPA gas-mileage? If so, it would apply to YOUR engines.

Or the 1.8 will encourage you to use different driving habits. Like tolerating slower acceleration across the entire range of your driving.
The 2.3 might encourage you to drive faster. Or participate in stoplight racing more often.
When it comes to fuel use, your foot is the single most important component.
