Honda Accord 2013 4 cl CVT code 0796
Hello all,
My beloved Honda Accord 2013 is having problems related to the CVT transmission. I need some advice from you about how to proceed. The computer shows two codes P0339 Crankshaft position sensor A circuit intermittent and P0796 pressure control solenoid C stuck off. So far, I changed the transmission oil (4 qts) and the crankshaft postion sensor. The car has 103 000 miles. It looks like one of the problems went away but still the car nods off sometimes when running. What is driving me crazy is this isn't a permant fault but can appear or disappear when running. The car can run normally for 20, 25, 40 minutes and then, this problem arrises. It is also rare for me that the crankshaft sensor be faulty and at the same time, the internal pressure control solenoid too. I don't know if this can be a PCM fault or what. I didn't change the transmission oil filter, by the way. I really don't know how to get a right diagnosis of this problem, and I am avoiding to take it to a transmission shop where they push me for a refurbish transmission to get more money.
What do you think ? Can be this internal soleniod replaced ? I think the oil level is right because Honda says 4 quarters and that was what I put in. The PCM is around $1000. What is difficult here is to get the right diagnosis.
Any advice will be very appreciated.
Thank you,
George

Thanks for your fast answer. I don't know what is showing now. I changed the sensor today and tested the car for about 25 minutes. After some time running normally, it began to nod when accelerating. The check engine lamp is off now. I will have to take it again to see if the computer shows something. Will let you know. Thanks
Thank you all for your efforts helping me. I took the car to AutoZone in the morning and the old codes were deleted. Check engine was off. I ran the car about 20 or 25 minutes normally, then it began to jerk when accelerating. I had to turn it off and re-start to continue for for a couple of miles when it began to fault again.
The check engine showed up. Then, I went to the closest AutoZone to get a new read. This is what the computer showed:
P0796 Pressure Control Solenoid "C" performance or Stuck OFF
Secondary DTC
P0796 A/T Clutch Pressure Control Solenoid C Valve C Stuck OFF
83-11 PCM (PGM-Fi) Malfunction ( The computer links it to ABS Anti-Lock brake system.)
PCM Malfunction (Engine)
What I don't understand is why the car runs properly for several miles and the fault comes and goes. It is something electrical for sure because when it runs without the problem, it does it well. I don't know if the PCM malfunction can be linked to the P0796 fault. This is the worst because this solenoid is inside of the transmission.
Please, give me light.
Thanks all,
Jorge

No, I didn't see anything rare in the old fluid. See my update below. Thank you!
