Honda Accord EX V6 "Check" Light ON
Hi Guys,
I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX V6 and it's having a problem. The CHECK light is on and I don't know what is wrong with it. When I refer to the manual, it said check the gas cap. I checked but everything is fine. Another said that it's the emission, but what could be wrong with the emission?
I noticed that since the day that CHECK light came on, the car drives weakers, I mean I can feel the jumps when I push the pedal in further. It's like it's lagging/stalling.
Could it be the Throttle body is dirty? Fuel injector? fuel filter?
Please give me some help!!!
Is the an ECU where I can diagnos? where can I find the codes?
Thanks
Phuong Le

Same problem with mine. having the catalytic converter changed out as I right this. Honda covers the catalytic converters for the 99's and I believe the 98's up to 80,000 miles. Guy said there was another problem with my fuel system...something about an evap leak on the cvs valve, but i dont' know what that means.
In the past, I had a problem with a solenoid. The car would stutter when attempting to accelerate. The RPM's would climb but the car would not accelerate. That was covered by warranty also, but that did not cause my check engine light to come on.

If you have an Autozone near by, take your car there and let them run a free diagnostics test on your car. They can tell you what the car's computer is saying is wrong with the car and causing the "check engine" light to come on. Once you know that, you'll be able to get the car, if necessary, to a mechanic to have the repair made.
