Okay, I went to another dealer, and they agreed to do oil consumption test, first I have to have an oil change with them (using conventional oil only) and will have to come back at 1000 miles. However, they seemed to also indicate that 2-3 quarts between oil change is normal under Honda guidelines. So, I won't be surprised if later on the findings will be "nothing is wrong".

About VTC actuator, they won't do anything at this point as well. From what I've read online, many of the new CRVs and Accords still has this VTC actuator issues.

My 2010 Coupe qualified for the excessive oil consumption repair by Honda. They pulled the head off and found scoring in the cylinder walls that dictated a replacement block, according to Honda's guidelines. That was mid January. Now it's mid March and still no replacement block. The dealer tells me now that Honda can't produce enough blocks and so requested photos of the cylinder scoring. Honda now says the scoring doesn't justify block replacement. So they're replacing just the pistons and rings. I talked to the mechanic to make sure they're doing this right, such as honing and measuring cylinder diameter. He said Honda is directing the dealers to NOT hone the cylinders. The mechanic agrees with me that the new rings will not seat without honing the cylinders. THIS IS STANDARD PROCEDURE to hone cylinders with new rings. It would take all of 10 minutes to do. So if they don't hone, the engine will never produce good compression and will consume oil. Maybe I'll sell this gutless car if I ever get it back but one thing is for sure.... I'll never, ever buy another Honda.
