Default Honda Guidelines

Simply put my parents won't allow me to modify my car unless everything goes though a honda dealership. Is it possible to bring in a description of a part you want them to put on for you to see if they will support it? The stuff they have there is way overpriced, so I was hoping I could buy the part else where (with a smog regulations code sticker) and then have them put it on for me with a guarenty it would pass smog and that they would still mantenace the car. Would they do this? Or just laugh me out of the building.

I believe it's called "C.A.R.B.-exempt". Check me on that though.
