Default Honda96 2.2 problem to start

Hello, last week the cel was turn on and the diagnostic was "the egr valve", i worked in the egr, i cleaned it using fuel taking off all the dirty surface, i connected the connector and the hose to the egr.
Since that time, when i start the car it works but stop immediatly, i need start the car 2 or 3 times to get the car is running normally, it is happening each time i start the car.
What happened to create thsi problem and how i can do to correct this?
I appreciate your help.

What code did you have? There are several EGR faults w/ different solutions.

EGR valve is very difficult to clean. If it was sticking, gasoline will not provide adequate cleaning in my experience. I have used Chemtron? Carb Cleaner, a much more aggressive cleaner to clean the EGR valve passages and blast debris out w/ air jet. The EGR valve pintle should move easily under slight vacuum applied to the vacuum inlet.

Your EGR manifold may need cleaning also. This is frequently cause of EGR codes (again which one?).

good luck

Your response is confusing. I suppose you mean that stalling did not occure before you attempted to clean. You may have dislodged a chunk of debris that now blocks the EGR from closing fully.

good luck
