Default How to diagnose reason for SRS light blinking randomly?

Sorry...know i'll probably get **** for the searching part, but having trouble finding stuff regarding the SRS light when it won't search for that term...lol

BTW, hi all, got a 2000 accord EX 5spd myself, ghey color of a purplish/silver (bought it in winter when it looked white-silver, d'oh!! haha)

So, usually SRS light is off and all is well, but it intermittently blinks on and off (random duration) while i'm driving.

Any idea what I should check to try and diagnose it? My crappy haynes manual doesn't go into any detail on the airbags, as they don't want anything done by a non-certified tech (don't worry, not mechanically retarded here).

I'd assume since it wasn't in any crashes that it's just some sort of sensor that sucks?

TIA
Steve

You can check a dealer. I think there should be a very very long warranty on airbag stuff. I had a '98 & the airbag warranty was for the "life of the car"...

yeah, I was hoping that too, but called honda's customer service number and I guess the OPDS is out of warranty, but seatbelt (mechanical buckle part only) is lifetime.

Only thing that sucks is they charge $80 just to pull a friggen code! talk about rip-off!
