Default How to read engine code

I have a 1996 Accord EX (not the V6). I'm trying to figure out how to check the error code (I have the ABS light on). I have located a red connector (w/ 6 holes) under the glove compartment. Next to the red connector is a blue connector with 3? holes. I only know this because I took a picture of them -- I've not been able to pry them out to look at them directly. Also, behind the ash tray, I found what looks like a pc-card interface (with 14 contacts?) along with a blue switch/bulb. Does anyone know how I can use these to get the error code? Are these the right connectors or is there a different one? I searched this forum but so far all I've found is a comment to "jumper it" (but not what "it" is).

Thanks

Default RE: How to read engine code

The 96 Accord is OBDII, so that connector behind the ashtray can be hooked up to a scanner at Autozone, etc. I don't know if the OBDII scanner can read ABS codes.

On earlier accords (I'm not sure about the 96+), there is a blue plug going into a dummy connector with two wires going into it under the glove box. To jump that connection, you would bend a wire (paper clip) to connect both sides of the plug. Then you would read the flashes from the check engine light.

Look at this link for pics: http://www.dhost.info/accordinfo/howto/cel.html
