Hello, my Godmother's 2005 accord 3.0 Vtec had a bad power steering pump. I flushed the system until clear "Honda" power steering fluid came out into the catch bucket. Installed the new power steering pump then I removed all the air from the system (no bubbles). Everything was fine for 2-3 weeks. Now the steering is becoming hard again. My Godmother drove the car for months with the bad pump and now I am wondering if the rack and pinion is going bad. There is no noise from the pump, the belt and fluid levels are good so it leads me to believe that the Rack is going bad. How do I test the rack and pinion to see if it's the culprit. I am at best a "shade tree" mechanic so please reply in as simplistic fashion as possible. Thanks!!!
